Monday Happy Hour: Americans Have a Big Weekend

Americans were big winners on several fronts this past weekend, so naturally we celebrate in today’s Happy Hour. The Men won! The Women won big time! Twice! Plus another notch added to Clint Dempsey’s belt, all this and more after the jump.

The US Women’s National Team dominated in CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying this past weekend, building up a whopping goal differential of 27 by beating the Dominican Republic 14-0 and Guatemala 13-0. LOLMLS makes an interesting observation about those two scores. (LOLMLS)

The US Men’s National Team started the year off with a win, thanks to a 97th minute goal from Ricardo Clark. A member of the American Outlaws captured the moment. (YouTube via The American Outlaws)

Clint Dempsey is the man. As if being the top scorer for Fulham and being EPL’s top American scorer wasn’t enough, this weekend he was the first American to score a hat trick in the EPL. (KCKRS)

It seems like New York defender Tim Ream will be headed to Bolton, despite prior concerns that he wouldn’t be able to obtain the necessary work permits. (New York Post)

All signs point to an announcement being made tomorrow morning naming PPL Park, home of the Philadelphia Union, as the site of the 2012 MLS All Star Game. (The Brotherly Game)
