Friday Happy Hour: Real American Heroes

A big week for American soccer begins tonight and we celebrate it in the Happy Hour. The USA Women begin their path to London 2012 with Qualifiers tonight and the USA Men begin their 2012  campaign with a friendly match tomorrow. We have details on both of those plus two American heroes worth celebrating and more after the jump.

Writer Ryan Rosenblatt is buying a beer for Massachusetts State Senator Benjamin Downing for his support of soccer in America. Next round is on us for his being an LGBT ally. (The Free Beer Movement)

We knew that Clint Dempsey was becoming more open with fans with his new foray into the Twitterverse, but we didn’t know he was getting this open. (The Other 87)

Clearly New England Revolution forward Zak Boggs didn’t spend his off-season getting a tan. (Twitter)

The USA’s campaign for CONCACAF Women’s Olympic Qualifying begins tonight and will be aired and streamed on Universal Sports.

The first friendly of the USMNT January Camp is tomorrow night against Venezuela. Get thee to an American Outlaws Chapter for their watch party and enjoy the game with great supporters!
